The pattern from BELEM is a trouser pattern, and we detail in the brochure and video tutorial how to sew the shorts version from the reference lines on your pattern board.

The pattern has a normal size and a wide cut, if you hesitate between 2 sizes, choose the smallest one, and rely on the recommendations of the hip size in priority, because the elasticated back size allows you to go out of the picture a bit.

I also give you measurements of the finished garment to help you in your choice of size, the hip measurement is made for closed front pleats. The actual size of the garment is therefore larger, but it may open up the pleats too much if you exceed the measurement indicated in hip size.

Choice of fabric:

linen, slightly thick tencel, fine denim, viscose twill, chambray, cotton, between 150 and 250 g/m2 to have a supple fall, ideal for the pattern

Supplies:

for a width of 140 cm

pants version

• 150 cm of fabric from 34 to 38

• 170 cm of fabric from 40 to 42

• 200 cm of fabric from 44 to 52

short version

• 110 cm of fabric from 34 to 38
• 120 cm from 40 to 42
• 130 cm from 44 to 52

• and in all sizes add 30 cm more fabric if your fabric has a direction (in this case the pieces are all oriented in the same direction and not spade heads)

• 30 cm high x 1m wide lining for rooms 13 and 14

• iron-on adhesive for parts 4, 5, 7, 8, 10 and 12 (approx. 50 cm x 50 cm)

• a zipper fly of 20 -22 cm

• two buttons 12 mm in diameter maximum

•  a rubber band 3 to 3.5 cm wide, length according to the gradation sizes indicated in the table
